Jack cannot remember a time in his life when he didn't know how to read. He is still a voracious but discriminating reader with an arresting and readable writing style.

Jack was the regular columnist for Wycliffe Canada's magazine, Word Alive, during his tenure as CEO. He also wrote most of the articles and columns for Wycliffe Caribbean's magazine, Go With My Word. Stories and articles in his two blogs, The Mandate, and INsights  & OUTbursts, are often picked up and reprinted by newsletters, papers and magazines around the world.

For the past sixteen years, his weekly e-mail blog posts treat a wide variety of topics but usually have a connection to cross-cultural missions, the Bible, or personal development. Besides the 773 page partial Bible translation, he has written and published a number of booklets and linguistic descriptions, most of which were written in Canela or in Portuguese.
